Katherine Sol-Rodriguez was a former Senior Manager – Branch Head from International Exchange Bank, now Union Bank of the Philippines. Her consistent professional achievements were the ladder to her career. With great interest on branch based and bank wide extra curricular activities, her creativity and talent on cosmetics, wigs, costumes and stage productions expanded her artistic reputation. This was her turning point to pursue her passion in the field of arts. Having a Bachelors Degree and Masters in Business Administration from University of the East, Manila, she decided to prepare herself more for a big career shift. Ms. Kay, as she is fondly called, attended the makeup world's biggest gathering, IMATS LOS ANGELES '09, the INTERNATIONAL MAKEUP ARTIST TRADESHOW in Pasadena Convention Center in California, U.S.A. She was very fortunate to be trained by the best makeup artists in the world and international educators namely: KRISTINA DUFF of TEMPTU AIRBRUSH MAKEUP; DANY SANZ AND KEVIN-JAMES BENNETT of MAKEUP FOREVER; EVE PEARL of EVE PEARL COSMETICS; DOMINIC CRUZ of KRYOLAN; DICK SMITH of HOLLYWOOD; TAYLOR CHANG-BABAIAN of ASIAN FACES; ANABEL VARGAS of ROYAL BRUSH; AND JOHN STAPLETON of M.A.C. She won 4TH HONORABLE MENTION in the INTERNATIONAL HAIR & MAKEUP OLYMPICS in APHCA '09 (ASIA PACIFIC HAIR & COSMETOLOGY ASSOCIATION), BRIDAL HAIR & MAKEUP CATEGORY. She won 2ND MOST OUTSTANDING ARTIST in HAIR ASIA '09, PROGRESSIVE EVENING HAIRSTYLE AND MAKEUP CATEGORY. She has done HIGH DEFINITION / AIRBRUSH MAKEUP for TV personalities in ABS-CBN SHOWS like "THE SINGING BEE", "BANANA SPLIT", "YOUR SONG (SOMEONE TO LOVE)", "MY PRECIOUS HEART (SOMEWHERE IN MY HEART)", "SHOWTIME" and "CHRISTMAS STATION ID '09" She did several commercials and station ID projects for ABS-CBN GLOBAL, The Filipino Channel (TFC) . Aside from music video and local TV commercials, she also does print ads for magazines and billboards. For TV guesting, she was interviewed live at GMA 7 morning show, UNANG HIRIT. She did a show case of HOLLYWOOD STYLE MAKEUP using High Definition and Airbrush. Her ability to translate artistic vision effectively and her love for details aimed her to be an AIRBRUSH MAKEUP SPECIALIST. Photo shoots, weddings and pre-nuptials are among her favorites. She did a BRIDAL MAKEUP EXHIBIT in SM MEGAMALL, MEGA TRADEHALL with a fashion show from OKASYON by MICHELLE LIM. International cosmetic brands like CLARINS and LAURA MERCIER engaged her as a Guest Makeup Artist for their cosmetic and skin care demonstrations at RUSTAN’S Makati for the Banker’s Night Event. She provides MAKEUP TRAINING, CUSTOMER SERVICE WORKSHOP and PERSONALITY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM to corporate clients. MAQUILLAGE PROFESSIONEL included her work of art in C’est Moi, a photo exhibit in Serendra. MAKEUP FOREVER engaged her to special projects because of her expertise in prosthetics, runway shows, photo shoots and stage plays. Ms. Kay is now a proud member of the Philippine International Cosmetologists Association (PICA). She has her own hair and makeup salon, named K STUDIO.
